The Nigerian association of agricultural economics (NAAE) is a voluntary, non-governmental and professional association aimed at fostering the growth and development of the agricultural sector. Its scope encompasses the academia, public servants business cycles, private practitioners and the farmers.
The association has over 1000 membership cutting across all fields of endeavor. The association was established in 1980 but had the first conference in 1981 at the University of Ibadan.
The past President of the association include Prof. Olayide ( at inception in University of Ibadan). Prof. Ijere (acted following the death of Prof. Olayide), Prof. Abalu (at A.B.U , 1982), Prof. Fabiyi (1988 and 1989 at the university of Ife). Professor Nwagbo (2001 at U.N.N Nsukka), Professor M.S Igben (2005 at R.S.U.T. Port Harcourt) till 2007, and Dr. Salisu Ingawa (2007 at A.T.B.U) till 2011, Prof. Peter ‘ Bola Okuneye(2011 at University of Benin) till 2017, and Prof. Job Nda Nmadu(2017 at FUNAAB) till date.
